Ponniyin Selvan Box Office Collection: Aishwarya Rai starrer period drama sees dip on day 5 after crossing Rs 200 crore

Director Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan witnessed a grand opening after it hit the theatres on April 28. According to reports, the film made a box office collection of Rs 200 crore on its 4-day opening weekend, but the film witnessed a dip globally on the fifth day.

According to media reports, PS2 has witnessed a major drop in its earning, and at the end of its fifth day run globally, the film has only grossed Rs 230 crore.

The film cast has been loved by the audience. PS2 stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Shobhita Dhulipala among others. It has received favourable reviews from both the audience and the critics and witnessed a healthy growth in numbers during the opening weekend.


While trade analysts have expected the film to keep the momentum the film witnessed a drop on the fifth day of its run globally.
As per reports, the film surpassed Rs 100 crore net box office collection in just 5 days in India and earned over Rs 100 crore on Tuesday.

Reports also suggest that 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' has made a box office collection of over Rs 75 crores in 5 days.

The multi-starrer period drama which has been released in multiple languages is reportedly performing well in several other countries. The film has been considered powerful in USA and Australia.
