Ponniyin Selvan 2 Box Office Collection Day 9: Mani Ratnam’s film about to touch Rs 150 crore mark
After a slight decline on May 6, the second part of Mani Ratnam's film "Ponniyin Selvan" has regained momentum and is now very close to reaching a gross revenue of Rs 150 crore.

Released in multiple languages in late April, "Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2" had a pan-India release and has been performing decently well at the box office, despite facing a dip in collections over the past week. On the seventh day of release, the film collected Rs 6.60 crore (nett) in India, bringing the total collection to Rs 128.60 crore in India. The film earned Rs 5.50 crore on the eighth day and an early estimate for the ninth day suggests that it earned Rs 8 crore, bringing the total collection to approximately Rs 142.10 crore, as per reports.
"Ponniyin Selvan" is a historical drama that is adapted from Kalki Krishnamurthy's famous literary novel of the same name. The first instalment of the movie had a global box office collection of over Rs 500 crore. The film stars an ensemble cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in lead roles. The supporting roles in the movie are portrayed by Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, and Prabhu.
