Poco M8 5G price in India announced: Check specifications, features, sale date and how to buy at Rs 15,999 on Flipkart

Chinese smartphone brand Poco has launched the Poco M8 5G today. The new phone brings a large curved display, a Snapdragon 6 series chipset and strong dust and water resistance, while an aggressive introductory price of Rs 15,999 is set to grab attention during its first sale window.

The Poco M8 5G price in India starts at Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

However, Poco has added a twist for early buyers. Customers purchasing the phone in the first 12 hours can get it at a special introductory price of Rs. 15,999.

The smartphone will go on sale in India on January 13 via Flipkart. It will be available in three colour options, Carbon Black, Glacial Blue, and Frost Silver.

Poco M8 5G Display

The Poco M8 5G features a 6.77-inch full-HD+ 3D curved display with a resolution of 1,080x2,392 pixels. The screen supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and offers up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness.

It supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate, covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and can display 68.7 billion colours. Poco has added Wet Touch 2.0 support, allowing users to operate the phone even with wet fingers.

Poco M8 5G Processor

Powering the Poco M8 5G is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The processor can clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz and comes paired with an Adreno GPU.

The phone offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. According to the company, the device scored over 8,25,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform.

The handset also carries IP65 and IP66 ratings for protection against dust and water.

Poco M8 5G cameras

On the camera front, the Poco M8 5G sports a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, supported by a 2-megapixel Light Fusion 400 sensor. For selfies and video calls, it features a 20-megapixel front camera.

The phone supports video recording up to 4K resolution. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

The Poco M8 5G runs on Xiaomi’s Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 out of the box. Poco has promised four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, a commitment that stands out in this price segment.

Poco M8 5G battery and connectivity

The smartphone packs a 5,520mAh battery and supports 45W wired fast charging. It also offers 18W wired reverse charging, allowing it to power other devices when needed.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and a USB Type-C port. The phone measures 164x75.42x7.35mm and weighs around 178 grams.

With a curved display, long software support and a sharply discounted launch price, the Poco M8 5G is clearly aiming to shake up the mid-range smartphone space in India.
