PM Modi birthday: Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, JP Nadda and others extend greetings as he turns 76

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 76 on Thursday, September 17, with Union ministers, BJP leaders and chief ministers extending birthday greetings and highlighting what they described as his contribution to public service, governance and India's development. Messages from leaders including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and S Jaishankar, among others, were shared on social media and during public events.

Yogi Adityanath described Modi as the “world's most popular leader” and the architect of “New India”, while other leaders highlighted themes including “Nation First”, public service, self-reliance and the goal of a “Viksit Bharat”. Their messages also included wishes for the Prime Minister's health and long life.

Yogi Adityanath calls Modi architect of ‘New India’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended birthday greetings to Modi, describing him as the “world's most popular leader” and the architect of “New India”.

“Heartfelt birthday greetings to the world's most popular leader, the visionary of 'One India - Excellent India', the architect of 'New India', and our guide, the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, who is dedicated to the ceaseless national yajna to usher in a new dawn of happiness, prosperity, security, and pride in the lives of 1.45 billion Indians,” Yogi said.

He added that Modi's commitment to “Nation First” and public welfare was an inspiration towards achieving the goal of a “Developed India”.

“Your sacred resolve of 'Nation First', your steadfast commitment, and your life dedicated to public welfare serve as an inspiration in realizing the goal of 'Developed India',” the Uttar Pradesh chief minister said.

Yogi also said that India was setting new benchmarks in self-reliance, governance, cultural renaissance and global prestige under Modi's leadership. He concluded his message by wishing the Prime Minister good health and a long life.

Piyush Goyal: ‘Another day for India’

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared a birthday message for Modi on X.

“For most people, a birthday is a day for themselves… For PM Modi ji, it becomes another day for India,” Goyal wrote.

Amit Shah highlights Modi’s public service

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended birthday wishes to Modi, describing him as a symbol of hard work, sacrifice and foresight.

Shah said Modi's life had been dedicated to national service and described his political journey as one of “penance, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve”. He also wished the Prime Minister a long and healthy life and said he hoped the country would continue progressing towards the goal of a developed India under his leadership.

Putin hails Modi’s role in strengthening India-Russia ties

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he turned 76, praising his contribution to strengthening the “special and privileged strategic partnership” between India and Russia, the Russian Embassy in India said.

The embassy shared Putin’s message on X, noting that Modi’s birthday falls on September 17. In his message, Putin said the Prime Minister commands “deep respect” among Indians and enjoys “great authority” internationally.

“It is impossible to overstate your personal contribution to strengthening the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia,” Putin said.

The Russian President also thanked Modi for the welcome and hospitality extended to him and the Russian delegation during his visit to New Delhi the previous week.

“I would like to express my gratitude for the warm and cordial welcome and hospitality extended to me and the Russian delegation during my visit to New Delhi last week,” Putin said, according to the message shared by the embassy.

Putin described his discussions with Modi as “substantive, frank, and productive” and said it was a pleasure to speak with the Prime Minister. He added that their talks demonstrated Modi’s “extraordinary political wisdom and foresight”.

The Russian President further said Moscow and New Delhi would continue working together on bilateral and international matters.

“We will, of course, continue our constructive cooperation on pressing bilateral and international issues for the benefit of our friendly nations,” Putin said.

Jaishankar, Sitharaman and Jitendra Singh extend wishes

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar joined the birthday greetings, wishing Modi success, good health and many more years in public service.

“You continue to inspire globally through your ideas and achievements,” Jaishankar wrote.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also posted a birthday message, saying Modi was steering the country towards “Vikasit Bharat” and had placed the nation first.

“For every ₹ spent from the exchequer, you’ve ensured that public good is served,” Sitharaman wrote, while wishing the Prime Minister a long and healthy life.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh also posted a message on X extending his birthday wishes to Modi.

Puneet Dalmia wishes PM Modi

Dalmia Bharat Managing Director and CEO Puneet Dalmia posted a message on X extending birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He wrote,"Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, heartfelt birthday wishes to you. Your leadership and vision have given new heights and momentum to India’s aspirations, both on the global stage and within the country. Sukanta Majumdar speaks on Modi’s leadership

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar extended birthday greetings to Modi during an interaction in Kolkata.

Speaking on the Prime Minister's 76th birthday, Majumdar said the occasion was not merely about the length of Modi's public service but also about the manner in which he had, in his words, steered the country forward.

Majumdar also claimed that 25 crore people had been lifted out of multidimensional poverty under Modi's leadership, attributing the figure to the World Bank. He referred to India's GDP growth as well, saying it stood at 7.8 to 8 per cent despite global conflicts, insurgent attacks and the wider effects of war.

JP Nadda praises Modi’s ‘Nation First’ approach

BJP national president JP Nadda extended birthday wishes to Modi and described him as a leader associated with national service and dedication.

Nadda said Modi's “Nation First” approach had shaped a journey centred on service, governance and public welfare. He also said that under Modi's leadership, India was advancing in development and self-reliance while strengthening its position on the global stage.

Nadda referred to the 7.8% GDP growth figure and India's role at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi while wishing Modi good health, a long life and continued energy for national service.

Rajnath Singh highlights governance and development

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also wished Modi on his birthday, saying India was moving towards the goal of “Viksit Bharat” under his leadership.

Singh highlighted areas including physical infrastructure, digital connectivity, welfare, innovation and entrepreneurship. He also said governance and public service had been placed at the centre of the country's development journey.

The Defence Minister further referred to India's civilisational values and cultural heritage receiving renewed recognition globally, and wished Modi good health, long life and continued strength.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan sends birthday wishes

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan described Modi's birthday as an occasion that, in his words, brings joy and excitement to millions of people.
