A brief but touching exchange between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a young girl during a Janta Darshan event in Lucknow on Monday has gained widespread attention on social media. The video, which has since gone viral, captures the Chief Minister engaging with the girl, named Vashi, who requested help in gaining admission to a school.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister asked the girl if she did not wish to attend school, to which she promptly responded, "No, I want to go to school." Upon further questioning about her preferred class, the girl appeared unsure. In response, Yogi Adityanath instructed officials present to ensure her admission to a school of her choice.

Speaking to reporters later, the girl said, "I met Yogi ji. I asked him to enroll me in school. He said he would. I came from Moradabad. He gave me a biscuit and a chocolate." The video has generated a positive response online, with several users praising the CM for his prompt and compassionate gesture.

UP CM has regularly held 'Janta Darshan' since 2017 when he first became the Chief Minister of the state. He holds Darbar to be able to listen to peoples problems and provide a solution for them.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday inaugurated the 91.35-kilometre-long Gorakhpur Link Expressway, a major infrastructure project constructed at a cost of ₹7,283 crore. The expressway connects Gorakhpur to several key districts, including Azamgarh, and is part of the state’s broader push to expand its expressway network.

Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said that the new Uttar Pradesh is carving out its identity as the “expressway state” of India. He described the inauguration as a historic moment for eastern Uttar Pradesh and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the state’s accelerated infrastructure growth. “Uttar Pradesh is reaching new heights of development, confidence, and pride with the largest expressway network in the country,” Yogi said.

Highlighting the contrast with previous administrations, he criticised the incomplete status of the Agra–Lucknow Expressway before his tenure. “Today, I am proud to say that six expressway projects have been completed under our government,” he added. The CM also pointed to the ongoing development of major expressways, including the 300-km-long Bundelkhand Expressway and the 340-km Purvanchal Expressway, which will provide connectivity to Patna.

In his, Yogi Adityanath referenced freedom fighter Veer Kunwar Singh, stating that had the Purvanchal Expressway existed in 1857, India might have achieved independence during the First War of Independence. “There was no connectivity at that time. If this expressway had been built, the people of Azamgarh would have defeated the British along with Veer Kunwar Singh,” he said.
