The full Moon in April is widely known as the Pink Moon, and this bright golden orb was a sight to behold for sky-gazers after it reached its peak at 10:05 am IST on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Moongazers in India couldn’t see the spectacle as the Pink Moon reached its peak during the daytime, but they can see the beautiful moon after sunset on Thursday as well as Friday night.

For an optimal view of the Pink Moon, sky should be clear and there must be less pollution. Skygazers can also keep watch on Venus and Mars as they will be fairly close to the Moon tonight.

In Buddhism, the Pink Moon is known as Bak Poya. Buddhists correlate this day with Lord Buddha when he helped the chiefs in Sri Lanka to settle a war.
