Nutritionist Deepsikha Jain had shared in an Instagram post why she recommended sprinkling cinnamon over fruits as part of a balanced diet.

Why Cinnamon on Fruits Helped Regulate Blood Sugar

In her Instagram video, Deepsikha Jain explained that fruits were a simple form of sugar and could sometimes cause a rapid spike in blood glucose levels when eaten alone.


She stated, “Here’s why I sprinkled just a little bit of cinnamon on my fruits as a nutritionist. Fruits are a simple form of sugar, which can cause a rapid sugar spike. Adding a little bit of cinnamon made a huge difference.”


She further explained that combining fruits with cinnamon helped reduce the sugar spike because the spice supported glucose absorption into cells, thereby contributing to better blood sugar control.

The nutritionist also noted that cinnamon contained polyphenols and antioxidants, which were beneficial for digestion. These compounds were known to help combat oxidative stress and support overall gut health.
