Pilot performs historic stunt, lands plane on Dubai's Burj Al Arab helipad
Luke Czepiela, a Polish aerobatic performer, landed his aircraft in a "world-first" feat on the Burj Al Arab hotel's 27-metre-wide helipad in Dubai.

"We did it! first-ever plane landing on the helipad of the iconic Burj Al Arab, "Czepiela later revealed. The video was labelled a "world first" by Red Bull Motorsports, which also posted it. Czepiela is an Airbus A320 captain and former Red Bull Air Race Challenger Class World Champion.
However, the landing on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab was his first in real life. The Pilot also said landing at a height of two hundred metres, without any clear points of reference, is totally different from landing on the ground. He had to have complete faith in his own abilities. There was no room for error on the helipad.
Aerobatics are the pilot's greatest passion, he says. He has flown under Warsaw's bridges, a five-out-of-ten difficulty rating. In 2019, he also landed on the Sopot Pier, Europe's longest wooden pier, earning a seven out of ten. The Burj Al Arab landing, on the other hand, was unique. According to the Polish pilot, it was an 11 out of 10.
The plane he flew was manufactured by an American manufacturer CubCrafters, recognised for its light aircraft. It weighs 425 kg, is 7.1 metres long, and is 2.54 metres in height with a wingspan of 10.44 metres. Czepiela also stated on Instagram that up to 650 attempts on the ground were made to prepare for the iconic landing.
