Pichaikkaran 2, the sequel to the 2016 movie Pichaikkaran, is all set to release on Friday, May 19, 2023. The makers have released the trailer of Pichaikkaran 2 and it looks like a good actioner. Earlier, the producers had released the first four minutes of Pichaikkaran 2, as a promotional strategy akin to Hollywood.

What was Pichaikkaran 1 about?

The original Pichaikkaran was written and directed by Sasi, and starred Vijay Antony and Satna Titus. The first film’s story was unique. It showed the story of a rich businessman, whose mother is comatose and cannot be revived. A priest predicts that she would recover only if the businessman lives a beggar's life. Pichaikkaran was successful and remade in Kannada as Amma I Love You, in Marathi as Bhikari, and in Odia as Baby.

Vijay Antony is a music composer-turned-actor who also makes his directorial debut with the film. He has also acted in and scored the music of Pichaikkaran 2 (he had also composed for Pichaikkaran 1).

The cast of Pichaikkaran 2 includes Vijay Antony, Kavya Thapar, Ritika Singh, Dev Gill, John Vijay and Hareesh Paredi.
