Why Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) revise fuel prices daily based on:

Global crude oil rates
Rupee vs dollar exchange rate
Local state taxes (VAT)
Transportation and refining costs

Despite global volatility, domestic retail prices have remained stable due to controlled adjustments by OMCs in recent cycles.

City-Wise Price Differences Continue

Even though national pricing trends remain steady, fuel rates vary significantly across states due to VAT differences.

For example:

Mumbai and Hyderabad continue to have some of the highest petrol prices in India
Delhi remains relatively cheaper due to lower VAT
Southern cities like Chennai and Bengaluru fall in the mid-to-high range

These variations often result in a noticeable gap of ₹8–₹13 per litre between states.

No CNG Hike Reported on June 3

Along with petrol and diesel, CNG prices also remained unchanged in most major cities. Transport fuel costs have stayed stable for now, offering some relief to commercial vehicle operators and daily commuters who depend on CNG-based transport systems.

Will Fuel Prices Change Soon?

Market analysts suggest that future fuel price movement will depend heavily on:

Crude oil supply decisions by OPEC+
Global demand trends during summer travel season
Currency fluctuations impacting import costs

If crude oil remains stable, domestic fuel prices are likely to stay in a narrow range in the coming days.
