Petrol and diesel prices across major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai have remained stable today amid the ongoing West Asia crisis. The fuel rates have remained unchanged despite tensions in the Middle East escalating Friday, sending oil prices soaring as US strikes on Iran intensified. Brent crude climbed 7.8% to $109.03 per barrel, fuelling sharp concerns. State-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, have hiked the price of industrial diesel by Rs 28.22 per litre, a 25% increase, to Rs 137.81 per litre.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said that retail prices of regular petrol and diesel remain unchanged, even as international crude and petroleum product prices have risen sharply over the past month. If fully passed through, petrol could near ₹120/litre and diesel could approach ₹190/litre, reflecting the extent of price suppression currently borne by OMCs. Premium petrol prices, specifically Indian Oil’s XP100 (100-octane), have been hiked today by ₹11 per litre, from ₹149 to ₹160 per litre.
