Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a pack of Parle Melody toffee to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday ahead of the high-level diplomatic engagement between the two leaders. The video of PM Modi gifting 'very very good toffee' to Giorgia Meloni has taken the internet by storm and netizens can't stop talking about it. As soon as the video surfaced online, 'Parle', 'Melody' were among the most searched terms on Google and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Many social media users shared memes, jokes, and nostalgic memories linked Parle, turning the diplomatic gesture into an internet sensation. "This is going to go viral through the rooftop. Modi and Meloni enjoy India’s Parle Melody toffee together. The new India-Italy Melody partnership!," senior journalist Aditya Raj Kaul wrote.

Parle responds

Reacting to the gesture, Parle in a statement said, "Nice way of pushing Indian products and giving a global stage but the company is not considering listing on exchanges right now. We do export Melody, available in 100 countries. Thankful to PM Modi for giving us the global stage," reported CNBC.

PM Modi gifts melody to Meloni

Giorgia Meloni once again sent social media into a frenzy after sharing a video of PM Narendra Modi gifting her a packet of Melody toffee during his visit to Italy. In the viral video, Giorgia Meloni is heard saying, “PM Modi brought us a gift. It is Melody,” while holding a pack of Melody chocolates gifted by Narendra Modi.

Meloni shared the clip online with the caption, “Thank you for the gift.” The interaction quickly gained traction on social media, with users reacting warmly to the friendly and informal exchange between the two leaders.
