The promising news for fans is that Panchayat Season 5 is likely in the pipeline. Although Amazon Prime Video has yet to make an official announcement, actress Sanvikaa—who plays Rinki in the series—has confirmed that work on the next season is already underway. In an interview with OTTPlay, she revealed that production has begun and hinted that the fifth season could premiere sometime between mid to late 2026, depending on the schedule.
The announcement has stirred excitement among fans, especially after a somewhat polarizing Season 4. While some viewers appreciated the show’s emotional moments and narrative maturity, others felt that the pacing was slower than in previous seasons and that the trademark humor was toned down. A few even described the storyline as dragging in parts. Nonetheless, the season ended on an intriguing note, leaving plenty of room for new developments in the upcoming chapters.
Created by The Viral Fever (TVF) and written by Chandan Kumar, Panchayat is celebrated for its unique blend of rural simplicity, humor, and social commentary. The show’s charm lies in its relatable storytelling and endearing characters. The ensemble cast includes Chandan Roy as Vikas, Sanvikaa as Rinki, Faisal Malik as Prahlad, Ashok Pathak, Durgesh Kumar as Bhushan, Sunita Rajwar as Kranti Devi, and Pankaj Jha as the corrupt MLA Chandra Kishore Singh.
While viewers are still waiting for an official green light from Prime Video, the confirmation from Sanvikaa suggests that the journey in Phulera is far from over. All four seasons of Panchayat are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
