Pakistan’s Ishaq Dar
Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, stumbled on the red carpet on Sunday while receiving Badr Abdelatty in Islamabad, ahead of crucial Middle East de-escalation talks.

Incident Caught on Camera

The incident occurred at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Dar stepped forward to welcome the visiting dignitary. In a video widely circulating on social media, Dar approaches the Egyptian minister but suddenly loses his balance and falls. He is quickly helped back up by security personnel present at the venue.

Key Talks on Iran Conflict

Pakistan is currently hosting two-day discussions involving Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, focusing on easing tensions in the Middle East. Early deliberations have centred on proposals to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and stabilise global shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage for global oil and LNG transport, has faced disruptions after Iran halted traffic following US and Israeli strikes. The closure has raised concerns over energy supplies and international trade.
