Pakistani Hindu youth goes missing near Wagah Border en route India; family claims 'unidentified men' took him
Om Prakash Kumar, a Hindu youth, was reportedly abducted by unidentified men at the Wagah border as he and his family were about to travel to India for a pilgrimage. His sister Nirmala has made an urgent appeal to Pakistani authorities for his saf...

The incident took place on February 21, at the Wagah border immigration office on the Lahore side, where Nirmala and her family were preparing to travel to India for a religious visit to the Ganga.
According to Nirmala, a doctor by profession, plainclothes men approached her brother at the immigration counter, questioning him before taking his passport, visa form, and mobile phone. They then led him to another room.
In a video shared late Thursday by social worker Shiva Kachi, who runs the Hindu rights organisation Pakistan Darawar Ittehad, Nirmala recounted her distress.
“When I inquired and started crying, one of the men told me to take my family back home,” she said.
“All we know is that afterwards those men took my brother away to an unknown location, and he has not returned yet.”
The family, residents of Mirpurkhas in southern Sindh province, about 230 kilometers northeast of Karachi, is still awaiting any response from the authorities regarding the disappearance. A week has passed since the incident, but no official reaction has been made by the concerned government departments or agencies.
Sindh, which is home to Pakistan’s largest Hindu population, regularly sees a significant number of Hindus traveling to India for pilgrimage and religious ceremonies.
The family’s plea highlights growing concerns over the safety of religious minorities and the need for prompt action from authorities to address such incidents.
