Pakistani actress Sajal Aly says Sridevi was like her 'mother', reveals desire to work in Indian films

Pakistani actress Sajal Aly has paid respect to Sridevi and said the late actress was like her 'mother'. Aly, who has made her Hollywood debut with Shekhar Kapur's romantic comedy What's Love Got to Do with It?, revealed that she wants to work in Indian films once again.

Aly worked in Sridevi's 'MOM'. 'MOM' was released in July, 2017 and Sridevi received praise for her poignant portrayal of a mother in the film.

During an interaction with Hindustan Times, Aly said she was very close to "Sridevi ji". Aly said that she never really talked about her bonding with Sridevi. The Pakistani actress has said that Sridevi was like her 'mother' and relationship was beyond the work.


Aly also revealed that she had shared a close bond with Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor.

Aly has also claimed that it is unfortunate that artists get stuck in the 'tensions' between India and Pakistan.

On July 7, 2020, Aly penned heartfelt note on her Instagram handle, "There are some experiences that, no matter how much time goes by, you can never forget. More often then not, people think that an actors life is easy, but not everyone thinks about the things we leave have behind when we commit to a character."
