Pakistani actor slams Sidharth Malhotra's Mission Majnu, says it's 'factually incorrect'

Adnan Siddiqui, a Pakistani actor, has slammed the Bollywood film 'Mission Majnu,' starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, for its misinterpretation of Pakistanis. On his official Instagram, the actor stated that before making a film, Bollywood should conduct its research. 'There's so much in Mission Majnu that's distasteful and factually incorrect,' says Siddiqui.

Taking to his official social media account, he tweeted, how much representation is too much representation, the actor also advised Bollywood to do some research.

Sidharth Malhotra plays an Indian spy in Pakistan in the 1970s in the film. The film is said to be based on events that occurred in India and Pakistan during the time.


Adnan shared a photo of a guy giving the thumbs down and wrote that let him assist the makers and gave notes on the misrepresentation of Pakistanis. The actor mentioned Pakistanis don't wear skull caps or tawiz and they also don't talk about tossing adaab.

The actor went on to say that Mission Majnu is distasteful and factually incorrect. If the antagonist had been shown powerful, the hero's aura would have been emphasised much more. Poor story, poorer execution and poorest research, he added.

While many people enjoyed 'Mission Majnu,' some condemned it for various reasons. Some people claim the film stereotyped Pakistani culture and has factual mistakes. 'Mission Majnu' became available on Netflix on January 20, 2023. Shantanu Bagchi is the director of the spy thriller.
