Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui criticizes Sidharth Malhotra's 'Mission Majnu', says 'hire some good researchers'

Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui has taken a jibe at Sidharth Malhotra's film 'Mission Majnu' and said film-makers should have hired good researchers before making the film. The Pakistani actor slammed the film for being a 'misrepresentation' of Pakistanis and also called the movie 'distasteful' and 'factually incorrect'.

Taking to Instagram, Adnan shared a long note where he said that Pakistanis "don't wear skull caps, surma and tawiz". He was referring to Sidharth Malhotra's look in the film where the actor can be seen donning a skull cap, surma and tawiz. Adnan further added to take note that we don't ask janab about their mijaz, and hurl adaab. The movie is helmed by Shantanu Bagchi and Sidharth's character's name in the film was Tariq.




"There is a lot of offensive and factually wrong content in #MissionMajnu. If the villain had been depicted fairly, the hero's complex as the saviour would have been more obvious. A weak protagonist is enhanced by a weak antagonist," the Pakistani actor said.

Adnan said that the film has poor execution, a poorer story, and the worst research. He further added that whenever the maker is making a film based on the country, they should first come and visit them to have an idea of how the citizens in the country live and dress up.

Meanwhile, the film was released on 20th January 2023 on the famous OTT platform Netflix. Apart from Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie also featured Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, and Parmeet Sethi in pivotal roles.

The film is a spy-thriller, and the storyline of the movie revolves around an undercover operation carried out by RAW field agent Amandeep Singh, who travels to Pakistan on a covert mission to look into Pakistan's role in developing nuclear weapons.
