Pakistan overcame an initial hiccup to register an easy win over the Sri Lankan women’s team by seven wickets closing the series with a game to spare. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, the Sri Lanka Women fell to a tight bowling from the Pakistan women to make a weak 102 runs score.

The speculation was ripe for a troubled chase by the Pakistan Women losing three wickets early in the game But Ayesha Naseem and Bisma Maroof batted a splendid score of 70 runs off 58 balls to bring an easy win home. The Pakistan women side took one wicket per bowler to fell the Sri Lanka women batting side.

Pakistan Women losing early 3 wickets at 34 runs with a crucial fall of Gull Ferozan by an amazing catch from Nilakshi De Silva gave some hope of win to Sri Lanka. Maroof and Naseem played responsibly to lead a great partnership. Naseem took charge while Maroof kept supporting her with her defensive game play.


The game took pace after the 15th over when Naseem struck a splendid six. The Sri Lanka Women displayed a sloppy game with careless overthrows here and there. The last 28 runs came off just ten balls and Naseem finished at an unbeaten 45 runs off 31 balls.

Pakistan Women stand a clear chance of a clean sweep when the sides meet on Saturday for the finals.
