The Pakistan train conductor called the wife of a British traveler "fat and unhealthy."
A video from Pakistan is going viral on the internet, in which a train conductor can be seen telling a British traveler that his wife is fat and unhealthy.

In the video, tweeted by Arhant Shelby, the British man is seen introducing his wife to the conductor, who seems quite surprised.

The train conductor then replies that she is not suitable for him, as he is quite healthy.

When pressed for an explanation as to why he thinks so, the train conductor says that the lady is fat and unhealthy.

The British man, visibly upset, responds that it is not good Pashtun hospitality and is rude. The train conductor, however, later says that he did not intend to upset him.

Earlier, Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam was also criticized for body-shaming his teammate Azam Khan. Babar called Azam "Gainda" (a slang term for overweight people) during a training session.

Body shaming issue is not restricted to Pakistan alone. In a notable case, a Milan court ordered a journalist to pay Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni €5,000 ($5,465) in damages for mocking her height in a social media post. The journalist, Giulia Cortese, also received a suspended fine of €1,200 for a jibe made on Twitter.

The controversy began in 2021 when Giulia Cortese published a mocked-up photo of Giorgia Meloni with the late fascist leader Benito Mussolini in the background. Cortese wrote, "You don't scare me, Giorgia Meloni. After all, you're only 1.2 meters (4 feet) tall. I can't even see you." This prompted Giorgia Meloni to take legal action against Cortese, after clashing with her on social media.

Similarly, cricketer Jaspreet Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, faced body shaming online. Ganesan, a popular sports broadcaster, became a target of trolls when the couple posted a video in collaboration with the beauty brand L'Oréal. While some fans appreciated the chemistry between the couple, others relentlessly fat-shamed Ganesan.

One user commented, “Bhabhi moti lag rahe hai..” (Sister-in-law is looking fat). Ganesan was quick to respond, berating the troll for his lack of education and problematic attitude towards women.
