PIB said that social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and X will likely be flooded with Pakistan-sponsored propaganda, especially during the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
“It’s crucial to scrutinise every piece of information carefully,” the post said.

What should you do?
The Press Information Bureau (PIB), which works under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has urged citizens to check facts before believing or forwarding any messages. They have especially warned people to be cautious about anything related to the Indian Armed Forces or the current India-Pakistan situation.If you come across anything suspicious, you can report it directly to PIB Fact Check. They have shared a WhatsApp number (+91 8799711259) and an email address where people can send screenshots or links of false or misleading content.
