MM Keeravani's composition of the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been nominated for ‘Best Original Song’. It also received a Golden Globe nomination in the same category earlier this year. Chandrabose, the lyricist for Naatu Naatu, also attended the luncheon.
Guneet Monga, a producer of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ and director of the documentary ‘Kartiki Gonsalves’, was in attendance at the annual event. Their documentary short ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ has been nominated for Best Documentary Short.
‘All That Breathes’, directed by Shaunak Sen, has been nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film. This year's luncheon featured some Hollywood veterans as well as some new faces. Oscar winners such as Steven Spielberg, Roger Deakins, and Justin Hurwitz were present. Multiple-time nominees Tom Cruise, Michelle Williams, Sarah Polley, Rian Johnson, Mary Zophres, and Diane Warren attended the event, as did first-time nominees Brandon Fraser, Hong Chau, Austin Butler, Ke Huy Quan, and Paul Mescal.
This year, Steven Spielberg's ‘The Fabelmans’ is nominated for three major awards: Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
Top Gun: Maverick producer and lead actor Tom Cruise, whose film is nominated for Best Picture, and Austin Butler, who is nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Elvis Presley in Elvis, posed together happily.
Michelle Yeoh, nominated for Best Actress for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, is pictured at the event. The 95th Academy Awards will be held at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on March 12 2023.
