Will Oscar Pistorius, former Paralympics star and convicted murderer, be released early from jail? A South African parole board is all set to consider whether Pistorius can be granted parole or not, according to a report.

Pistorius shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at their Pretoria residence on Valentine's Day in 2013.

Subsequently, Pistorius was convicted for the murder and sentenced for 13 years. So far, he has served half of the 13-year sentencing.

Six-time Paralympic gold medallist Pistorius is currently serving his sentence in a Pretoria prison. If South African parole board decides to grant parole to Pistorius, he will be allowed to walk free within days, as per a BBC report.

However, Reeva Steenkamp's mother June is likely to oppose the parole if the authority decides to grant it, as per the report.

Pistorius has recently met Reeva Steenkamp's father Barry Steenkamp.
