Oscar nomination 2023: RRR songwriter Chandrabose says 'Naatu Naatu' belongs to my village, childhood

RRR songwriter Chandrabose expressed his joy and gratitude when his song 'Naatu Naatu' received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. In an interview, Chandrabose mentioned that he would not let the success of RRR songs get to his head.

The writer is overjoyed since his song was nominated for an Oscar among the 15 songs that competed, including James Cameron's 'Avatar: The way of water.

While thanking Rajamouli and Keeravani for contributing to the song he said that he never dreamt he would witness this much success.


Chandrabose went on to say that it took him a long time to create the song and that everything he wrote was based on his childhood recollections from a rural area where he grew up.

Meanwhile, as the Indian jury sent 'The Chhello Show' to the Oscars this year, the fictitious drama film 'RRR' was unable to make it to the Best Foreign Language Film list.

RRR, SS Rajamouli's magnum effort, has been nominated for an Academy Award. Following a successful run at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, the picture has officially joined the Academy Award competition.

Naatu Naatu previously received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song. The song also got a Critics Choice Award in the same category. The film also received the Critics' Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
