Following last year’s Will Smith slap controversy, Bill Kramer, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, has revealed in a new interview that a ‘crisis team’ will be in place for this year’s Oscar ceremony.

Bill Kramer, the CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, addressed recent concerns about this year’s ceremony, which will take place next month, in a new interview. The Oscars' ratings have dropped to their lowest point in the show’s 90-year history over the last two years. AMPAS president Janet Yang also stated that the organisation’s response was ‘inadequate’ at the Oscar nominees luncheon last month.
In a new interview, Bill Kramer stated that a ‘crisis team’ is in place this year at the Oscar event. He stated, “We have never had a full crisis team before, and we have lots of backup plans in place. So we are hoping to be ready for anything that we do not expect to happen right now but are planning for just in case it does”.
In response to the unexpected slap that sparked outrage last year,d Bill stated, “Because of last year, we have become more open to the possibility of anything happening at the Oscars”.
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting for the third time.
