Oreo enters metaverse, collaborates with Meta and Martha
The OREOverse is available on desktop, mobile and in Meta's Horizon Worlds, where users may access and experience the Metaverse in virtual reality.

The brand debuted the OREOverse with the introduction of a new limited-edition cookie, ‘The Most OREO OREO’. According to a press release, the launch's promotional offer has come up with a variety of prizes, including a $50,000 contest, gaming consoles and virtual reality headsets.
The OREOverse is available on desktop, mobile and in Meta's Horizon Worlds, where users may access and experience the Metaverse in virtual reality (VR) while wearing a Meta Quest headset.
With Meta's relationship with Oculus virtual reality headsets, Oreo was quick to point out that the experience can also be enjoyed/accessed via smartphones and PCs.
The company has also collaborated with Martha Stewart, who is primarily recognised for her bestselling recipes. Stewart is no stranger to web3, having debuted her own NFT collection "Fresh mint" in 2021.
While the OREOverse games are based on Meta's platform, numerous other consumer goods businesses are selling their new items in different gaming worlds. McCain Foods, the firm behind the famed McCain fries, partnered with metaverse platform Roblox and NFT-themed eatery Bored & Hungry in October 2022 to educate audiences on regenerative agriculture. Similarly, Unilever's well-known Magnum ice cream brand built a virtual museum in Decentraland, another virtual destination for digital assets.
One of the most difficult issues in metaverse business adoption is a lack of skills. According to a KPMG analysis, while 67% of organisations asked were eager to adopt new platforms in an effort to increase customer involvement, most companies had a limited supply of in-house IT capabilities to keep up with the expanding trends. This increases the likelihood of corporations collaborating with tech companies to increase involvement in web3 and the metaverse.
