Operation Safed Sagar veteran attacked with iron rod in Gurgaon mall by parking staffer, suffers serious head injury; alleges no one helped
Kargil War veteran Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta (retired) has alleged that a parking attendant at a Gurugram commercial complex attacked him with an iron rod after a dispute over parking, causing head and elbow injuries. Gupta has also accused t...

Gupta, who was part of the Indian Air Force’s Operation Safed Sagar during the 1999 Kargil War, has accused the police of failing to assist him after the alleged assault. He has also alleged that the hospital’s medico-legal case (MLC) report did not accurately reflect his injuries.
Gupta had gone to Gonzo restaurant at Magnum Global Park for a family dinner on Thursday night. Around 8 pm, after dropping off his family, he went to find a parking space.
According to his complaint, parking staff directed him between the valet area, basement and multilevel parking before eventually refusing to park his vehicle. At one point, when Gupta tried to reverse his car, a parking attendant allegedly struck the windshield in an attempt to break it.

“When I came out of the car and protested, the attendant brought an iron rod and hit me twice, once on my hand and then on my head. I was drenched in blood,” Gupta said, according to media reports.
The attendant also allegedly threatened to kill him, Gupta claimed.
He said neither security personnel nor other parking staff at the spot intervened despite the attack. Gupta also alleged that he called the police helpline, but no officers arrived for around another half an hour.
According to his account, a chef eventually intervened, preventing the situation from escalating further.
Kargil veteran undergoes surgery after attack
Gupta was taken to Medanta Hospital by ambulance with injuries to his head and elbow. He later underwent surgery to fuse the injured elbow bone using plates.“The attack was sudden and unprovoked. I couldn't even defend myself,” he said.
Gupta has further alleged that the hospital prepared an inaccurate MLC report that did not mention the bleeding from his head or the injury to his elbow.
“I am not getting any support from the police,” he alleged.
In his complaint, Gupta has sought strict action against the accused and called for an FIR for alleged attempt to murder and grievous hurt.
