ONGC invites applications for recruitment of 2,500 apprentices. Here's eligibility, how to apply and other details

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has invited applications for the recruitment of 2500 apprentices.

In a notification, ONGC said that a candidate is to choose and can apply for one trade at one work centre or location only.

As per the notification, the minimum age to apply for the posts is 18 years and the maximum is 24 years as on 20.09.2023, i.e, the Date of Birth of the Candidate/Applicant should between 20.09.1999 and 20.09.2005.


However, the upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates, while for PwBD candidates, there will be an age relaxation of upto 10 years.

Candidates can apply for the ONGC apparentie posts via its official website, www.ongcapprentices.ongc.co.in. The application window was opened on September 1, 2023, and will be available until September 20, 2023.

For Graduate apprentices, ONGC will be offering a stipend of Rs 9,000, while for diploma apprentices, it is Rs 8,000 and Rs 7,000 for trade apprentices.

"Selections for engagement of Apprentices would be based on the merit drawn on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination as stipulated in the advertisement. In case of a similar number in merit, a person with higher age would be considered. No canvassing or influencing would be acceptable at any time and may result in rejection of the candidature. Reservation of positions will be followed as per Government of India Policy on SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS categories," ONGC said in the notification.


ONGC, however, added that candidates who had training or job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of prescribed qualifications, shall NOT be eligible for being engaged as Technician Apprentice."

"The applicant for the position should NOT have completed three years after passing of the qualifying examination as on the cut-off date of eligibility i.e. 20.09.2023. In case the date of Declaration of result is not mentioned in the Mark Sheet, the candidate must submit a certificate mentioning the date of publication of result from the Principal of the Polytechnic/ College / Institute from where the candidate pursued his course at the time of verification of documents," it added.

ONGC also said that after successful 12 completion of Apprenticeship period, candidates shall be relieved from the respective work area and it shall have no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices during and/or after the completion of the apprenticeship period.
