OnePlus is gearing up to enter the gaming smartphone segment with a new device dubbed the OnePlus Turbo. The phone has appeared on Geekbench, offering an early look at its performance credentials and confirming several key hardware details ahead of its official launch.

9,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging

The most striking detail revealed is the implementation of a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. For context, most modern flagship smartphones hover around the 5,000mAh mark. By utilizing silicon-carbon technology—which offers higher energy density than traditional lithium-ion—OnePlus appears to have fit a massive capacity into a mobile chassis without making the device overly bulky. To complement this, the phone is expected to support either 80W or 100W fast charging, ensuring that even a battery this large can be topped up quickly.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Android 16 onboard

According to the Geekbench database, the OnePlus Turbo carries the model number PLU110 and is internally codenamed Volkswagen. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, with the prime core clocked at 3.21GHz.

The benchmark results show a single-core score of around 2,161 and a multi-core score of approximately 6,866. The phone is listed with up to 16GB of RAM and runs Android 16, indicating that its launch timeline may align with Google’s next major Android release.

Display details hint at gaming focus

The Turbo features a 6.78-inch OLED panel sourced from BOE. It boasts a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. This higher-than-average refresh rate is designed to give competitive gamers a split-second advantage in fast-paced titles, providing smoother animations and reduced motion blur compared to standard 120Hz displays.
