One UI 9.0 stable update rolls out to Galaxy S25 Edge and S25 FE: Check new features, eligible devices and how to update

Samsung has expanded the stable rollout of One UI 9.0, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE after releasing the software for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra earlier. The latest updates are currently rolling out in Samsung’s home market, South Korea, bringing the two remaining Galaxy S25-series models new features, additional UI customisation options and updated security and privacy tools.

The company ended the One UI 9.0 beta programme for the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE before making the stable software available. Samsung is expected to extend the rollout to other regions over the next few days.

Galaxy S25 Edge, S25 FE get stable One UI 9.0 updates

The One UI 9.0 update for the Galaxy S25 Edge is 3,398.98MB in size and carries firmware version S937NKSUADZIF, according to information shared by @Alfaturk16.


For Galaxy S25 FE units that participated in the beta programme, Samsung has released a 326.59MB update carrying firmware version S731NKSU9CZI5, according to @galaxyupdatesx.

The stable versions have initially been released in South Korea, following Samsung’s usual rollout pattern. Availability in other markets is expected to follow in the coming days.

Users can check whether the update has reached their device by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

One UI 9 adds more context-aware Galaxy features

One UI 9 is designed to build on existing Galaxy experiences while helping users complete everyday tasks in fewer steps. Samsung has added context-aware suggestions, creative prompts and improvements to features such as translation, document scanning and voice recording.

Nudge can provide timely suggestions at different points in the Galaxy experience. For instance, while making plans through text messages, users can access reservation information or save a location shared in a conversation without leaving the chat.

Creative Studio can also suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. When a friend’s birthday is approaching, for example, users may receive a prompt to create a themed image or greeting.

Samsung has also updated Interpreter with a new Thread View, allowing users to refer to earlier parts of translated conversations more easily. Conversation Mode translation is faster, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker playback to reduce delays during conversations.

Document Scan and Voice Recorder receive updates

One UI 9 brings changes to Document Scan aimed at making it easier to digitise difficult materials, including curved book pages and papers with folded corners, with less manual adjustment.

On compatible Galaxy devices, large-screen-optimised views and an improved Finger Eraser are designed to help produce cleaner scans.

Voice Recorder has also received an update, with summaries presented in a more structured format. The summaries can use elements such as headings and tables, making important information easier to review.

Samsung adds new security and privacy tools

Security and privacy are another focus of One UI 9. Samsung has added tools intended to give users greater visibility into potential security and privacy issues and more control over how they respond.

Security Brief brings important security and privacy information into Now Brief. This can include alerts involving malware, applications from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions, helping users identify potential issues.

Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify possible privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts by applications to access permissions in the background. The feature is designed to give users greater awareness of how their information is being accessed.

Samsung has also expanded Scam Detection to additional countries and languages. The feature provides protection against potential scam calls in supported markets.

The stable One UI 9.0 rollout for the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE currently remains limited to South Korea, with availability in additional regions expected in the coming days.
