From a small stall outside the Jawahar Municipal Stadium in Kannur to some of the world’s most historic and diverse destinations, Hashim VP’s journey proves that big dreams do not need big bank balances.

For over three decades, Hashim has been selling sugarcane juice in Pappinisseri, quietly building a life that would take him far beyond Kerala. Today, at 67, he has travelled to 10 countries and is preparing for yet another international adventure.

How a Small Juice Stall Turned Into a Passport to the World

Hashim’s roadside sugarcane juice business has been his only source of income for the past 30 years. Instead of spending his earnings on luxuries, he chose to invest in experiences.

Slowly and steadily, he began saving for travel, not as a hobby, but as a life goal. What started as curiosity soon turned into a deep passion for exploring new cultures, people and landscapes.

The 10 Countries Hashim Has Already Visited

Over the years, Hashim has travelled to some of the most culturally rich and politically complex parts of the world. His travel list includes:
  • Israel
  • Palestine
  • Jordan
  • Egypt
  • Iraq
  • Malaysia
  • Thailand
  • Azerbaijan
  • Turkey
  • Saudi Arabia

His most recent international trip was to Turkey, which he describes as especially beautiful.

China Is Next on His Travel Map

Hashim is not slowing down anytime soon. He is now planning a trip to China, which he hopes to take in the coming months along with his wife and elder brother.

Speaking to ANI, he said that travel continues to excite him as much as it did when he first stepped out of Kerala.

How His Wife Became His Travel Partner

One of the most heart-warming parts of Hashim’s story is that he never travels alone. His wife, Haseena, has accompanied him on every international trip.

From Middle Eastern cities to Southeast Asian destinations, the couple has explored the world side by side, proving that travel does not have to be a solo dream.

The Conversation That Changed His Life

Hashim’s love for travel began in 2012, when he took his first trip to Delhi. At the time, June and July were off-season months for his sugarcane juice business, and he usually stayed home.

A simple conversation with his elder brother changed everything. His brother spoke to him about how travel opens the mind and brings new meaning to life. Those words stayed with him, and soon, he was planning his next journey.

"From then on, I have not stopped travelling and continue to explore new places whenever I can," he told ANI.

A Life Built on Curiosity, Not Comfort

Since that first trip, Hashim has never stopped exploring. He has travelled across India and ventured abroad again and again, using nothing but the income from his modest juice stall.

His story stands as a reminder that travel is not reserved for the rich, it belongs to those who dare to dream and save for it.

Why Hashim VP’s Story Is Inspiring the Internet

At a time when many believe international travel is impossible without wealth, Hashim’s journey shows the power of discipline, passion and perseverance.

From Kannur’s streets to ten countries across the world, and with China next, Hashim VP continues to prove that it is never too late to see the world.
