Suga is currently on a world tour to promote his new album, D-Day. The BTS rapper has talked about how he fights against depression.

Suga is a songwriter, rapper and producer from the hugely popular K-Pop band BTS. Talking about why he has been so happy lately, Suga said in Korean, “When I was on stage, I saw everyone’s face and it made me very happy. It made me realize that’s the reason I’m alive.” The translation was done by an on-stage translator, who is travelling with the musician.
Suga had earlier also talked about his battles with depression. During an interview in 2021, Suga said that his depression comes and goes in cycles. The musician added, “I’m comfortable now and feeling good, but those sorts of negative emotions come and go. So it’s almost like cold weather. It may come back in a cycle over a year, year and a half. It’s very encouraging. I think, for anybody, these emotions are not something that need to be hidden. They need to be discussed and expressed. Whatever emotions that I may be feeling, I’m always ready to express them now, as I was before.”
Amygdala, which is a new song by Suga, is a part of the album D-Day. This song, where Suga talks about his past accidents and family’s misfortune, expresses such emotions with brevity and sensitivity. In the song, Suga tells about the effect these incidents had on him.
