Ola driver kills passenger after argument over OTP in Chennai
Chennai saw a horrific situation on Sunday when a simple argument over OTP made an OLA driver kill a techie, and police arrested the driver.

The passenger was Umendra, who used to work for a software company based in Coimbatore. He had come to Chennai over the weekend to meet a relative and he was not travelling alone. His wife and children were also accompanying him on Sunday.
At the time of the horrific incident, they were returning from a mall after watching a movie. Umendra’s wife booked the OLA cab, and some confusion between the two parties regarding the OTP occurred when the cab came. The driver asked for the OTP, but the family failed to give it. Thus, the driver asked them to get out of the cab.
He also told them to ride the cab only when they could provide the driver with the correct OTP. After hearing this, Umendra also became angry and slammed the door as he was getting out. This didn’t go down well with the driver, and he started shouting at them, eventually leading to an argument between the driver and Umendra.
As per the investigating officer, first, the cab driver threw his mobile at him, but he didn’t stop there. The driver was so agitated that he started punching him many times, and as a result, Umendra fell to the ground unconscious. When his wife took him to the nearby hospital, the doctor declared him dead on arrival.
Police came soon after and arrested the cab driver on charges of murder. As of now, an investigation is being done. Whatever may be the outcome of the investigation, a lovely weekend became a nightmare for the family.
