Offices in Chennai, Bengaluru shut on August 10 for 'Jailer' release

'Jailer,' starring Rajinikanth, is all set for a grand release on August 10th, with expectations of a strong debut at the box office across India. Rajinikanth is making a triumphant return to the big screen, after a hiatus of nearly 2 years. And for those fervent Rajinikanth fanbase, there is good news. Many offices in his home state of Chennai, and in Bengaluru have announced holidays for employees on August 10.

The movie has already built lot of excietment thanks to its promos. The 'Jailer' fever surrounding Superstar Rajinikanth even reached the illustrious Times Square in New York City.

The eagerly anticipated 'Jailer' is projected to dominate over 90% of screens on its inaugural day within the home state, potentially securing a groundbreaking opening for Rajinikanth.



The movie is also expected to do good overseas. According to movie distributor in the USA, Venky Reviews, Jailer is on track to record the highest premieres for an Indian movie in 2023. Reportedly, it has crossed Rs 10Cr advance bookings overseas.

Under the directorial helm of Nelson Dilipkumar, 'Jailer' is rumored to be an action-packed entertainer, featuring Rajinikanth in a mature portrayal as a retired police officer. The director is said to have masterfully woven a tapestry of emotions throughout the film, and the team is overjoyed with the outcome following a recent exclusive screening.


A showcase released earlier introduced Rajinikanth’s character ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, with two different avatars. Superstar plays a father of a police officer in the movie. The video also showed how a simple man fights bad guys with swords and guns.

The film has a stellar star cast that include Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan in prominent roles. The makers have roped in Malayalam actor Mohanlal for an extended cameo in the film.
