Odisha Board declares Class 12 science, commerce exam results

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, today announced the results of Class 12 Board exam for science and commerce streams.

The results were announced by the Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi in the presence of the department secretary and officials of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha.

According to data, girls have outperformed boys in both the streams.


In science, the pass percentage has dropped 9.19 percentage points from 94.12 last year. So a total 84.93 per cent of students who appeared for the science stream cleared the Plus Two examination of the Odisha board.

In absolute terms, of the total 92,950 students who appeared for the examination, 78,938 cleared the science stream. This includes 42121 boys and 36,817 girls.

Moreover, 39,573 students have secured first division, 24,257 in second division and 14,852 got third division in the Class-XII science examination.

In commerce, 24,082 students had appeared for the examination in the commerce stream in 2023 out of which only 81.12 per cent students cleared the exam, down from 89.2 last year. Among those who cleared the commerce exam include 12,121 boys and 7,415 girls. 102 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks in commerce. While 7410 students have secured first division, 4543 got second division and 7492 got third division in the exam.


As per CHSE data, Nayagarh district topped the list of districts with 96.41 per cent students clearing the examination.

While 358 students have secured more than 90 per cent marks, 291 schools have scored 100 per cent results and two schools have zero results.

The students can get their marksheets in Digilocker from June 10 onwards. The result of Plus-II arts and vocation courses is likely to be declared on June 8, according to reports.

Around 3.5 lakh students had appeared for the examination under various streams this year.

CHSE has not yet declared the results of the arts and vocational courses but as per reports, it will be declared on June 8.
