Odia movie Adieu Godard: Finalist in Cardiff Film Festival
The film Adieu Godard narrates how an elderly man becomes an ardent fan of Jean-Luc Godard after being a pornography-addicted man.

The film follows the story of an elderly man who becomes an avid fan of Jean-Luc Godard after being a pornography addict. Jean-Luc-Godard is regarded as the pioneer of the French New Wave film movement that happened during the 1960s.
As per the statement issued by the producers, the Amarya Bhattacharyya-directed movie is competing against five other international films, and the outcome will be released later this week.
The movie's title, released on September 2, suggests it is a tribute to Jean-Luc Godard, the legendary French-Swiss filmmaker, but it’s not a classic example of homage to the auteur.
The film is competing against various other Asian movies, being a part of the Barcelona festival in the Official Panorama section.
According to Bhattacharyya, it’s a proud moment for them and regional cinema as they were able to take this film to "different corners of the globe."
One day, Choudhary Bikash Dash, the protagonist, mistakenly brings home a DVD after thinking it is a pornographic film. Though it turned out to be the debut film of Godard's Breathless, which was released in 1960.
When the old man, Ananda, watches the film, he gets attracted by the newness and increasingly develops an obsession.
