UGC NET, a biannual examination, typically takes place in June and December each year.
Registration Information
For UGC NET 2024, registration dates are anticipated to be made available in the final week of December on the NTA official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Admit cards are expected to be released in February 2024. It's important to note that candidates can submit only a single online application form; multiple submissions will result in rejection.
Application Fees
The application fees for UGC NET 2024 are as follows:
- Unreserved Category: Rs. 1100
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) / Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL): Rs. 550
- Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Rs. 275

- Before applying for the UGC NET 2024 exam, candidates should carefully review the eligibility criteria:
Qualification:
Aspiring candidates should possess a master's degree or its equivalent from any recognized university or college.
A minimum of 55% marks for general category students and 50% for SC/ST/PWD/OBC (Non-creamy layer) in the qualifying examination is required to sit for the exam.
Candidates in their final year of study or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Examination Details
The UGC NET 2024 examination will have a duration of 3 hours, during which candidates will demonstrate their knowledge and proficiency in the subject matter.
Question Pattern:
The examination comprises two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I evaluates candidates' teaching and research aptitude, while Paper II assesses their in-depth knowledge in their chosen subject.
The exam is worth a total of 300 marks, with 150 questions in total. The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English.
Marking Scheme:
Candidates will receive 2 marks for every correct response. Notably, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers, allowing candidates to attempt all questions without the fear of losing marks for wrong responses.
