Now, IPS officer gets conned at restaurant. See what happened

Numerous scams seem to be occurring nowadays. Whether it is through liking YouTube videos or asking for OTPs, several kinds of modus operandi are being used by scamsters. Many people get duped almost every day. Now, it has come to light that even an IPS officer was scammed recently.

The IPS officer, who is from the 1996 batch, has revealed on social media that he was scammed into paying for two dosas when he ordered only one at a restaurant. Arun Bothra, Additional DGP, CID-Crime and Transport Commissioner, Odisha, has posted the whole episode on Twitter.










According to Bothra, he recently went to a restaurant and ordered a dosa. He was shocked when he saw that he was billed for two dosas instead of one. On enquiring with the staff at the restaurant, he found out that the person sitting next to him claimed he was accompanying him and asked their food to be billed together.

Bothra, while explaining how he was scammed, posted, “Went to a restaurant alone to have a dosa. Was puzzled to see the bill that mentioned two dosa. On asking the waiter said one person sitting on other side took a masala dosa saying that he was accompanying me. He had left by the time bill came.”

The post has got over 384,500 views, 162 retweets, 62 quotes, 3,582 likes and 30 bookmarks on the microblogging platform till now.

Several Twitter users have also replied to the post with both shock and amusement. Some have even joked about trying out the same method while some have shared some clips of comedy movies, where similar things happened.

"Dear Mr Bothra, Next time kis restaurant mein ja rahe ho … bata dena please. Bahut din hue dosa nahi khaya," said a user. Another person said, "That’s a good idea sir. Will try next time." A netizen, who posted a video of a comedy scene from a movie, showing a similar con, posted, "Reminds of this hotel comedy scene."
