London-based consumer tech startup Nothing has offered the first official glimpse of its upcoming Nothing Phone (4a), confirming a refreshed design and teasing hardware upgrades ahead of its debut.

The Phone (4a), which follows the Nothing Phone (3a), keeps the company’s signature transparent aesthetic but swaps the circular Glyph Interface for a new pill-shaped camera module.

Nothing Phone (4a): Glyph Bar debuts

The back panel is also arranged slightly differently from the previous model. Previously, Nothing confirmed that the Phone (4a) will introduce a new "Glyph Bar."

"Nine individually controllable mini-LEDs, 40% brighter than previous (a) series. Patented tech for a more natural, neutral, bleed-free glow," it said in a post on X on February 20.

Most previous Nothing smartphones shipped with the Glyph Interface, barring the flagship Phone (3), which introduced the Glyph Matrix instead.

That system uses “489 mini LEDs, symbols instead of light patterns, and Glyph Tools for timers and battery % progress,” the company said, adding that Essential Notifications allow users to assign signs or phrases to contacts without checking the screen.

Nothing Phone (4a) processor details

Nothing has also confirmed that the Phone (4a) will be powered by a Snapdragon processor. Rumours on the internet suggest that it could be the the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. It is also believable given that the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC.

Nothing Phone (4a) series expected specifications

The Phone (4a) is tipped to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, along with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It may house a 5,400mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging.

On the camera front, rumours point to a triple rear setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.

The Phone (4a) Pro, meanwhile, is expected to feature a slightly larger 6.83-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It could also include a 50MP Sony primary rear sensor.


Nothing Phone (4a) launch details

The Nothing Phone (4a) will launch on March 5 alongside the Phone (4a) Pro. and will be available in India through Flipkart like other Nothing smartphones. The landing page on the platform suggests that the devices can be expected in Black, White, Blue, Silver, and Pink colour options.
