Noida Supertech Twin Towers Demolition: Roads to avoid tomorrow; check other traffic details here

Noida is set to witness the demolition of twin towers - at 100 metres , both taller than the iconic Qutub Minar - in Sector 93A on Sunday. Around 5,000 residents of Emerald Court and adjoining ATS Village societies have to vacate their premises by 7 am on Sunday while also removing nearly 3,000 vehicles, media reports said.

Traffic update
Commuters must keep in mind that there would be diversions on roads leading to the twin towers in Noida Sector 93A from Sunday morning.


The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway would be closed for vehicular movement from 2 pm to 3 pm. The expressway is barely 200 metres from the demolition site.

On Sunday, Google maps will also provide real-time traffic situations and updated feeds for diversions.

In order to facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles, green corridors will be created.

One nautical mile of air space around the demolition site will also remain briefly unavailable for flights on August 28.

Preparations
Around 400 policemen are expected to be on duty and another 150 to 200 traffic personnel would be at work for the entire day.

DCP Rajesh S said that six ambulances, four fire tenders and over 400 police officials apart from NDRF and paramilitary teams will be deployed at the site.

An exclusion zone of up to 50 metres radius will be created around the twin towers which will be devoid of any humans or animals, except for the demolition team.

The waterfall implosion technique will be used for the massive demolition to bring the structures down within a few seconds. The demolition is expected to leave behind a towering 55,000 tonnes of debris.

Ritu Maheshwari, Noida Authority CEO, said all arrangements are being made to clear the dust from the area in the aftermath of the demolition. Sanitation workers, mechanical sweeping machines, anti-smog guns, and water sprinklers would also be placed at the site.
