Noida Supertech Twin Towers Demolition: How and when to watch the event

All eyes are set on the demolition of the Supertech twin towers in Noida today. The demolition will take place at 2:30 pm where the buildings, Apex and Ceyanne, will crumble like a house of cards. It is likely to be a breathtaking spectacle to see them being reduced to dust and debris.

The residents of the adjacent buildings have moved to safer places. The airspace will be closed for about 30 minutes and the nearby Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will also be closed from 2.15 pm to 2.45 pm. The health impact of the resulting dust on residents will be minimal as experts overseeing the demolition will take steps to control the impact.

560 police personnel, 100 people from reserve forces, 4 Quick Response Teams and NDRF team have been deployed on the spot to tackle any untoward situation.


While the process to make the buildings ready to be razed took weeks, they will be demolished in less than 15 seconds. However, residents have been asked to vacate the neighbourhood by 7 am today, and will only be permitted to enter their homes post 7 pm with consent. The demolition would be done in a manner so as not to cause any structural damages to other buildings.

The towers will be brought down using 3,700 kg of explosives leaving behind 35,000 cubic meters of debris that would take at least three months to be cleared.

The primary reason behind the demolition is that the twin towers are being constructed illegally and are taller than Delhi’s iconic Qutub Minar. The go-ahead for demolishing the twin towers with explosives was given by the Supreme Court.
