Noida Protest Update: Situation Under Watch Amid Rising Tensions
Officials have confirmed that the situation remains sensitive, with security forces maintaining a strong presence in affected areas. The unrest comes amid ongoing worker agitation across Gautam Buddh Nagar, where multiple demonstrations have taken place in recent days over wage and working condition demands.Noida Traffic Advisory: Diversions Issued for Ambedkar Jayanti Event at Sector 95
Meanwhile, the traffic police in Noida have issued a detailed advisory ahead of a major public event scheduled on April 14, 2026, at Dalit Prerna Sthal, marking the birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar. A large turnout is expected, prompting temporary traffic diversions and parking arrangements across key routes, especially along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway.According to the advisory issued by Noida Traffic Police on X, congestion is likely near major access points to Sector 95. Vehicles from Greater Noida towards Noida may be diverted via Mahamaya Flyover towards Sector 37, then onward through Atta Peer Chowk, Rajnigandha Chowk, and Sector 15 Golchakkar. Alternate diversion plans have also been put in place via Film City Flyover and Sector 18 in case of heavy congestion.
Traffic moving towards Greater Noida may also be rerouted via Sector 14A Flyover and Sector 15 Golchakkar, depending on traffic pressure. Authorities have also designated parking zones, including Film City multi-level parking, Gate No. 01 of Dalit Prerna Sthal, and underground parking near Sector 95.
Emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire services, will be given unrestricted access, and traffic personnel will be deployed at key intersections to assist commuters.
Noida Traffic Disruption: Earlier Protest Led to Major Gridlock in Delhi–Noida Route
Earlier, traffic between Delhi and Noida was severely disrupted after a workers’ protest in Gautam Buddh Nagar turned violent, leading to congestion along the Noida Link Road near the Chilla Border. Commuters were advised to take alternative routes such as the DND Flyway or NH-24 via Kondli Bridge.The disruption came amid escalating protests in Phase 2 and surrounding industrial areas, where thousands of workers had gathered over wage-related demands. In Sector 62, large crowds contributed to severe traffic jams across multiple routes.
Noida Unrest: Large-Scale Worker Protests and Police Action
According to Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, nearly 42,000 workers gathered across 83 locations during peak protests, with most demonstrations resolved through dialogue. However, incidents of violence were reported at two locations, prompting police action and detention of over 200 individuals.FIRs have also been registered against several social media accounts accused of spreading misinformation and fuelling unrest. Authorities said false information circulating online contributed to panic among workers.
Authorities further alleged that external elements attempted to incite violence, calling it a “planned conspiracy”, and said investigations are ongoing.

Citizens have been urged to strictly follow the traffic management plan and use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
