No shorts, No cleavage showing please! US restaurant’s strict dress code goes viral

A resturant in United States' North Carolina is in the news. Reason, it's dress code which has now gone viral on the internet.

Kim's Kafe in Greensboro posted its rules regarding clothing on its Facebook page on September 1, drawing widespread reactions.


"We ask that everyone please be kind and mindful of this business’s dress code," the post read. The guidelines included:

• No short’s,
• No crop top’s
• No t-straps
• No leggins
• No short skirts
• No cleavage showing please

The post also noted, "Our dress code has been in place all summer long. THANK YOU!"

The reactions on social media were mixed. One Facebook user quipped, "Kim used to have a business… Now all she has is a dress code." Another commented, "Looks like someone didn’t go to business school." A third joked, "So, wear a snow suit? Say less."



However, many others supported the restaurant’s decision. One commenter stated, "These comments show how narrow-minded and out of touch with modest fashion most of the world is. Honestly, it’s not that hard to dress modestly, and I know I’m not the only one tired of seeing young girls dressed like they’re on their way to a strip club. It’s time to bring class back."

Another pointed out, "She’s a private business owner and can do as she pleases. I don’t agree with it, but I simply won’t dine there. She’s limiting her business, but that’s her choice."

A third commenter added, "I understand the concept, but even with certain ideas, wisdom needs to be applied. A lack of wisdom in execution can cost you your business. People's clothing choices can offend others, and I understand what she’s trying to do. But this is just my opinion."
