Nithyananda’s ‘country’ Kailasa attends UN meeting, claims self-styled godman is being ‘persecuted’

Nithyananda is the main accused in several cases, including rape. Kailasa, reportedly located off the coast of Ecuador, and it is said that it has its own passport, flag and even a ‘Reserve Bank of Kailasa’.

A woman named Vijayapriya Nithyananda represented “Kailasa” as its “permanent ambassador” at the Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (CESCR) meeting in Geneva.

“Kailasa”, the “country” established by self-styled godman and rape suspect Nithyananda, recently attended a United Nations meeting in Geneva, where a representative stated that Nithyananda is “persecuted” by India.

The woman said during her turn to speak at the meeting that Kailasa is the first sovereign state for Hindus, established by, Nithyanand Paramashivam, who is reviving the enlightened Hindu civilisation and its 10,000 indigenous Hindu traditions, including the Adi Shaivite indigenous agricultural tribes for which the supreme pontiff of Hinduism is also the leader”. Following the woman’s remarks, a male representative of “Kailasa”, identified as EN Kumar, addressed the UN meeting.


Kailasa is reportedly located off the coast of Ecuador and it is said that it has its own passport, flag and even a Bank named “Reserve Bank of Kailasa”. Nithyananda even announced flights to his nation in December 2020.

Under the Indian Penal Code, Nithyananda is the main accused in several cases in India, including rape, torture, kidnapping, and wrongful confinement of children (IPC). He is also being investigated by French authorities for an alleged $400,000 fraud. In 2019, Nithyananda fled India.

Interpol issued a blue corner notice in January 2020 seeking information about the controversial self-styled godman. The international police cooperation body issues a blue corner notice to collect additional information from its member countries about a person's identity, location, or activities in relation to a crime.
