'Next generation of talent': Anand Mahindra shares video of boy gymnast on a road

Trust Anand Mahindra to come with tweets on some of the best from across the country. The latest is of a young boy on a village road doing a series of gymnastic moves that would look perfect on a trained athlete at a sports event.

The 17-second video - set to the background of the Tamil song 'Nee pottu vacha' - shows the boy charging in and doing a series of front flips, cartwheels, back flips and a side flip before landing perfectly on his two feet. Great poise and attitude.

What would have looked a clean routine by a trained gymnast on the carpets of a gym was executed on a hard asphalt road somewhere in a village. And for all practical purposes, it seemed that the boy would have perfected all these moves the hard way. Mahindra in his post said the video was sent from Tirunelveli in southern Tamil Nadu.


"And after the Gold rush for India at the #CWG2022 the next generation of talent is shaping up. Unsupported. We need to get this talent on the fast track. (This video shared by a friend who has seen this boy in a village near Tirunelveli)," the eminent industrialist posted to Twitter.

The clip he posted around noon on Tuesday raced to nearly 3 lakh views within three hours, with many of his followers bowled over by the boy's skill.
