Newlywed couple dies in tragic geyser gas leak incident in Mumbai
A newly married couple in Mumbai and another couple in Uttar Pradesh died due to geyser gas leaks, highlighting the importance of proper maintenance and installation of carbon monoxide detectors in homes.

The maid then contacted Deepak's mother and their nearby relatives, who opened the door with a spare key and found the couple lying unconscious in the bathroom. Police suspect that the gas leak from the geyser caused the couple's death, and the autopsy conducted on Wednesday evening confirmed the cause of death.
Similarly, in another incident, a couple in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh suffocated to death due to a geyser leak. Deepak Goyal (40) and his wife Shilpi (36) were taking a shower together after playing colours. Their children alerted other family members when the couple did not come out of the bathroom for a long time. The family members broke open the door and rushed the couple, who was unconscious, to a hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared them dead.
Carbon monoxide, which is released during a gas leak, can become lethal. It is both odourless and colourless, and the leak can be difficult to detect. Inhaling carbon monoxide can cause dizziness and unconsciousness within a few minutes.
These incidents are tragic and serve as a reminder to be cautious when using gas appliances such as geysers. It is important to ensure proper ventilation, and regular maintenance and to install carbon monoxide detectors in homes to prevent such accidents.
