Newly wedded pair KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty recently paid a visit to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Rahul and Athiya offered their prayers for marital bliss in their relationship and the success of the Indian Cricket Team.

According to reports, they had informed temple authorities about their visit in advance. The couple performed the temple’s well-known Bhasm Arti ritual. The temple’s priest revealed that Rahul asked for the ash from Bhasm Arti.

Photos and videos of the newly-married couple have gone viral on social media. Netizens are speculating that the reason behind this visit is KL Rahul’s lack of form as he has not been able to score runs for the last many months. Although Team India comfortably won the first two matches in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the ‘star opener’ has been unlucky at the crease.


Due to his poor performance, Rahul has been removed from the position of ‘vice-captain’ from the Test team in the last two matches against Australia. Former Indian Cricketer Venkatesh Prasad took to Twitter bashing Rahul and criticising Team India’s decision to stick with him. However, captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid have backed him.
