New Year celebration back on the streets of Bangalore’s Brigade Road after two years

Bangalore's renowned Brigade Road will finally see full-fledged New Year celebrations after 2 years of silent New Year amid pandemic restriction. The Bangalore City Police decided to allow New Year's Eve celebrations on the road on Friday.

The City Police Commissioner C.H. Pratap Reddy met with several hotelier and bar organisations on December 16, and it was confirmed that New Year's Eve celebrations will be allowed on Brigade Road this December 31.

The Brigade Shops and Establishments Association (BSEA) has agreed with the Bangalore Police Department's decision to install sufficient street lighting and CCTV camera surveillance for security reasons.


They have also demanded that the city police maintain security, supervise the celebrations, and prohibit traffic movement on the route in order to maintain law and order.

Mr. Reddy stated that all safety precautions have been considered, and representatives from hotels, pubs, and commercial outlets have been given instructions to assist the police in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of women and children. The city police will issue instructions for New Year's Eve celebrations soon.
