Bangalore’s most happening place, Brigade road, will resume New Year celebration after 2 years.

The City Police Commissioner C.H. Pratap Reddy met with several hotelier and bar organisations on December 16, and it was confirmed that New Year's Eve celebrations will be allowed on Brigade Road this December 31.
The Brigade Shops and Establishments Association (BSEA) has agreed with the Bangalore Police Department's decision to install sufficient street lighting and CCTV camera surveillance for security reasons.
They have also demanded that the city police maintain security, supervise the celebrations, and prohibit traffic movement on the route in order to maintain law and order.
Mr. Reddy stated that all safety precautions have been considered, and representatives from hotels, pubs, and commercial outlets have been given instructions to assist the police in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of women and children. The city police will issue instructions for New Year's Eve celebrations soon.

Last year, the association let go of the traditional practice of lighting up the street, which used to start from as early as December 15, giving priority to the health and safety of people, with a surge in the Omicron variant.
