New PUC rates in Maharashtra: Check revised charges for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, petrol and diesel vehicles
All PUC centres across Maharashtra have been instructed to implement the revised rates.
Under the new fee structure, the PUC charge for two-wheelers has increased from Rs 50 to Rs 60.
For petrol-powered three-wheelers, the fee has been raised from Rs 100 to Rs 120. The charge for petrol and CNG four-wheelers has increased from Rs 125 to Rs 150, while the PUC fee for diesel vehicles has gone up from Rs 150 to Rs 180.
A PUC certificate is mandatory under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules for all petrol, diesel and CNG vehicles operating on Indian roads.

Why has Maharashtra increased PUC fees?
The Maharashtra State PUC Centre Owners Association had sought an increase in PUC testing charges.The Transport Department subsequently formed a three-member committee to examine the demand. The panel reviewed PUC rates in other states and considered various factors before recommending a revision, the statement said.
PUC centres instructed to display revised rates
Owners of all PUC centres have been directed to prominently display boards showing the revised fees.Officials have also been instructed to ensure that the new rates are implemented across all PUC centres and that motorists are not charged more than the prescribed amount.
The Transport Department has further directed its 'Vayuveg' flying squads to monitor compliance and ensure that the revised charges are being followed, the statement added.
