Netizens slam stand-up comedian for criticising her mother's choice in men

Over the years, stand-up comedy has become a popular mode of entertainment. There are many notable stand-up comedians in India these days with thousands of followers. Whether it's our day-to-day lives, politics, international affairs, or sports, these stand-up comedians not only draw our attention to some serious issues or send across a positive message, but they also tickle our funny bones and bring some much-needed laughter to people's lives.

However, things can get out of hand at times, and some stand-up acts do not go over well with the audience. These comedians occasionally irritate their audiences by bringing up sensitive topics. It's hard to please everyone, and there are times, when people take things too seriously and slam these comedians. Recently, a video has gone viral that shows female stand-up comedian Shashi Dhiman performing. An Internet user who goes by the name Byomkesh has shared this video on Twitter, which has received some nasty comments and reactions. The complete video can be seen on YouTube, and it goes by the title, "Dating and Indian Parents."




Many users didn't take the video in good spirit, as the comedian can be seen criticising her mother’s choice in men.

"I will never marry as per my mom’s wishes because I see my dad every day. She has such a bad choice," comedian Shashi Dhiman says.

Since being uploaded, the video has garnered more than 525,000 views on Twitter.

"Hahahah.. Sarcasm humour ke naam pe kuch bhi," a Twitter user commented. Another person wrote, "Blatant badtamtezi, Thursday stand Up comedians think they can say anything about anybody under the guise of dark humour."
